Lovely Sunday....

What incredible weather we were blessed with today!! After church, we had a delicious meal of baked ziti pasta and breadsticks (thanks Mel) and then decided to take a little drive down to Temple Square to walk around and enjoy the gorgeous weather....it was so nice. I forgot my camera but took some decent pictures with Denver's new phone. Oh I hope this weather will stick around for a while.... hope you all enjoyed your Sunday!

Old Man Winter is Here......Boo!

So this is what we woke up to this Sunday morning.....about 2 inches of SNOW.....Blech! Now dont get me wrong, I dont mind the first snow storm of the season but hello, it isnt even the season for snow yet! It is still Fall....Autumn.....time for changing and falling leaves, the smell of winter COMING. I feel like I just got jipped out of half of my favorite season. Im sure it will all melt and warmer temps will prevail for a little longer but I was a little bummed this morning.

This little snippet slide show is of Addison showing off her new dress and tights. She is already very excited about wearing new clothes (uh-oh) and was prancing around here like a princess this morning. I took a few pictures and she was more than happy to oblige in posing for me.
Lastly, here is a picture of me and my girlie taken by Evan. Hope you all had a nice Sunday....we enjoyed ours in spite of the weather.....

The Leaves are Changing......

Another Sunday worth taking a drive. Today we decided to head up the Alpine Loop to see the fall colors. If you are from Utah then you are familiar with the Alpine Loop and its fall splendor. It is a beautiful drive to take and enjoy the mountains especially during this time of year. We even got lucky and didnt have to pay to get into the canyon.....they had a sign on the window that said "Free Day".....

We did find that the leaves arent all changing just yet. Another 2 weeks and it will be spectacular! We stopped for a few photo ops and then made a quick stop at Sundance. I wish I could live there.... it is such a cool place! Funny thing too.....we ran into some familiar faces (see Soren in the pictures) I guess great minds think alike huh? It was fun to see Nate and Alisa up there. We did attempt a picture of all the kids....as you can see, it was difficult! Along the drive we pulled over and made a little hike. The boys decided to bring ziplock bags and collect some fall leaves. They made quite the collection....not sure what they will do with them now?

It was a nice drive though and I am looking forward to doing it again in a couple of weeks for even prettier pictures.

Sunday Fun....

We have always enjoyed a Sunday drive. Especially when the weather is getting cooler and the windows can be rolled down. I'm not sure about other cities but in Salt Lake, Sunday's are really mellow. Less traffic, more quiet. It is very nice. Perfect for driving around. It was Stake conference today so we opted out. We ended up on the south end of the valley. Looked at a lot of houses. It is amazing how much more house you can get for your money out there. Probably because the commute would be horrendous if you worked downtown. The gas is even cheaper out there. (its really not that far away actually, only about a 10 minute drive....) While we were out there, we decided to drive up the Bingham Copper Mine. If my memory serves me right, it is the largest producing copper mine in the world. It is actually 4000 feet deep and can be seen from space ....and, it is in the family, sortof. Thats right, my Great-Great-Great Grandfather Erastus Bingham settled the area that is known as Bingham Canyon and actually was the first to discover the metal while grazing his cattle in the hills. At the time however, he was instructed to concentrate on cattle instead and so another man ended up starting the mining process....unfortunately that didnt get us out of paying the fee they charge to drive to the top of it for a look. We didnt bring any cash though and couldnt drive to the top. We promised our disappointed children that we will come back again....the view is incredible from up there. We felt we owed them some sort of entertainment at that point and found a nice park to play in for a bit......of course I took pictures. It was a nice day and we are winding down now and gearing up for another busy week.

Sunday at Grandmas.....

Well, I committed the ultimate blogger sin and went somewhere today without my camera. I cooked a meal and took it to my Grandma's house to eat with her and my aunt Debbie.... it was so nice to sit and visit with them for a while without any kids! Yes you heard right. Addison slept right through it all in the back room.....Ian was at a friends house and Evan spent the day at Lagoon with his friends family. So, it was just some good food and adult conversation. Something I dont get very often. I had planned on taking some nice pictures to go along with this post and also some pictures of our meal for my food blog. Oh well. Guess you cant capture everything! It was a really nice evening and Im thinking I should do it more often.

I ran again last night and plan on going later this evening as well. Surprisingly my body is handling it pretty good considering! There is some soreness of course but it isnt enough to keep me from it. Im feeling stronger and running a little bit longer each time. My neighbor has offered to run the 5k Turkey Trot with me in November.....that is if I can make it by then. That is my goal anyway. Ever since my friend Alisha trained and ran in some races I have had the bug in my head to do it too. It would be something I never thought I would do and I think that is the reason I need to do it. Im going to try my hardest to complete it......I'll keep you posted!

Sunday Pics...

You know you blog a lot when your kids constantly ask you to take pictures of them to "put on the blog" . They wore their new church shirts today and Addie is in her new dress so I took some pictures and when we got home, Ian right away asked if it was time to put the pic's on the blog. Actually he stripped down first. I dont know where they got that from but the minute that our door closes, the clothes come off and they sit around in their underwear....stranges ones I tell ya! :) Enjoy your Sunday!

September Snow....

So, weird stuff....it snowed in the middle, ok end, of September. Still, we dont usually see snow until November so it was strange! I thought it would stay up in the mountains but oh no...it snowed right in our yard and even started sticking for a little while. Of course it didnt stay and Im sure it will warm up again but the kids were thrilled to see it. Me, not so much. I do enjoy the first really big snow storm. You know the kind that hangs off the trees along the street....the kind that covers everything like a big white blanket. Love those storms.... but then, you have to clean it up and then it always gets bitter cold afterward making it not as much fun as when it was falling and covering everything. Ah, well I guess it is inevitable. Winter is just around the corner.

Well, in other news, I start training for my new job tomorrow. Im looking forward to being home during the week and more importantly not having to get up super early in the morning! I hate alarm clocks...truly. When mine goes off it is all I can do not to slam it into a thousand pieces. Anyway, I had orientation yesterday....meanwhile Denver and the kids went over to Denvers' work (Boeing) for their 20th anniversay party. They had lots of food and fun for the family and the boys were soooooooo excited to see the place where "daddy builds airplanes". They got to see all the equipment and metal and the big gigantic forms that they make pieces of the airplane wings from. It was very exciting for them. I met them over there after my orientation was done. The boys attemepted to rock climb on this huge rock wall they brought in for the kiddies....I took some pictures on my new cell phone but havent figured out yet how to get them onto my computer. I will post them as soon as I figure it out. It was quite funny though. Rock climbing definitely does not come naturally for them. Evans hopes of reaching the top were quickly dashed after he realized how difficult it really was. And Ian....well, he thought he could just pull himself up and his legs would follow. Neither of them made it even halfway. But it was fun nonetheless.

This morning I woke up with a fantastic cold. My head feels like it will explode at any moment and every bone in my face hurts thanks to the sinus pressure. I had to go to church and teach my class so I got out of bed....my day was made better when I dressed Addie in her new dress. She looked like a little princess and I couldnt help but smile and want to go show her off. I love little girls!!!! Im so happy to have her but I must admit after my 4 day break from having her around I am looking forward to when she turns 3 or 4. Ive come to the realization that I am at a point in my life where I need my sleep and I need some quiet time. Most of you know that isnt possible with babies around. After I had Addison and realized that I shouldnt have any more children I was kinda sad because I really enjoy being a mom and love the whole experience of pregnancy, delivery, and newborn babies. I could see myself having more....but now, I feel much differently. I know now that I am done having children and Im totally OK with that. I love my 3 healthy children and they keep me plenty busy and fill me with love so it is a great feeling to be done. I think having Addison away from me for those few days helped me to realize that I am happy with my family just the way it is......its kindof like closure in a way.

Well, hope everyone has a happy week! Ciao for now.

Sunday.....

One of my new favorite things to do is check out other peoples' blogs. Ive sortof become obssesed about it really. I click on links to my friends-friends/family blogs and then keep on going. It is fun to see other blog designs and Ive found some really cool websites from those blogs. The only downside to doing this, is realizing that I am boring! People are so creative and exciting and involved in all kinds of stuff. Then there's me......I struggle with stuff to write about each week and travel???? Forget about it. Im lucky to take a 20 minute drive to the other side of town let alone leave the state. Oh well, Im happy, realtively.....so I suppose that is all that should matter. I have decided however that I am going to try and incorporate something new and exciting into my life so that I have something more interesting to write about.

Anyway, it cooled off tonight and what we thought was going to be a great storm blew in and right back out. Got a little thunder and lightening but no rain. Still it made for a nice evening. We sat out on the lawn and the boys played catch. I took a few pictures.... Im looking forward to Fall....my favorite time of year. Evan starts Kindgergarten next week and I just cant believe how quickly all this time has passed. Addison is just 16 months but I know it really is just around the corner for her too.....

We finally got the van back....not without problems though. The window isnt working right and they left screws off of the inner door panel. So much for trusting the dealership. It is so frustrating! Denver set off to fix his brakes yesterday since the part he ordered FINALLY came in.....only to discover they had sent the wrong one. Now we have to send it back and wait for another. So now we still only have one vehicle. What a pain! Well, I guess that is about it. I will have a better post next week as we are actually leaving the state and going to Las Vegas for the holiday weekend. Until then....................
