Yummy Cookies.....

Im not a big fan of Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies but I've come across a fabulous recipe for them that I cannot resist! I have a "food blog" that I am horrible about keeping because I am too busy with this blog and I never remember to take pictures of the food.....who likes a recipe without a picture? But I do use it to save my favorite recipes that I find on occasion. I have filed this one there.....click on the picture to go to the recipe!!

Sunday at Grandmas.....

Well, I committed the ultimate blogger sin and went somewhere today without my camera. I cooked a meal and took it to my Grandma's house to eat with her and my aunt Debbie.... it was so nice to sit and visit with them for a while without any kids! Yes you heard right. Addison slept right through it all in the back room.....Ian was at a friends house and Evan spent the day at Lagoon with his friends family. So, it was just some good food and adult conversation. Something I dont get very often. I had planned on taking some nice pictures to go along with this post and also some pictures of our meal for my food blog. Oh well. Guess you cant capture everything! It was a really nice evening and Im thinking I should do it more often.

I ran again last night and plan on going later this evening as well. Surprisingly my body is handling it pretty good considering! There is some soreness of course but it isnt enough to keep me from it. Im feeling stronger and running a little bit longer each time. My neighbor has offered to run the 5k Turkey Trot with me in November.....that is if I can make it by then. That is my goal anyway. Ever since my friend Alisha trained and ran in some races I have had the bug in my head to do it too. It would be something I never thought I would do and I think that is the reason I need to do it. Im going to try my hardest to complete it......I'll keep you posted!

Mmmmmmm.......

Yes, I know....this doesnt look like healthy eating at all. It's not. But, I really wanted to try making a pound cake. You can find the recipe here. I've started another blog to keep my favorite recipes organized and you are welcome to check it out.

So far all I seem to have on there is sweet stuff.....now you all know what my problem is! Ha! Anyway, this dessert was too yummy not to share.

Yum....

I have a serious addiction to warm, homemade rolls. It gets even worse when butter, cinnamon, and sugar are added! I made these last night with a fabulous roll recipe that I use ALL the time. I am currently compiling some of my favorite recipes to put on a "recipe blog"....yes Melanie, Im finally giving in.... However, I cant come up with a snazzy name for it. Any ideas? As soon as I name it, I will publish it. Denver said I should call it "Vannies Vittles"....you can see why Im still on the fence.

For the Love of Oreo's......

Who doesnt love Oreo cookies? Ok, I admit it, I dont. Well that isnt to say that I wouldn't eat a whole package of them if I knew they wouldnt show up on my rear the next day...... I just dont LOVE them. The Double Stuff are the best. In fact, they should stop production on the regular ones all together. The extra frosting makes them much better.....I also like the new "Golden Oreo's"..... a vanilla cookie instead of chocolate. A few years back, I was working for Discover Card. I worked with a girl who was obssesed with cooking. She brought some pretty tasty stuff to our Pot Luck meals.....one day she brought Homemade Oreo Cookies! Wow. Really, they should be banned from human consumption based on the calorie count alone. but Wow. After eating 10 of them, I was able to get the recipe from her and they have become a family favorite. I made them yesterday to bring to church today for Aisha....she is the Japanese girl in my primary class. Her birthday is coming up. I am proud to say that between yesterday, when I made them, and today....I only ate 4. Believe me this is nothing short of a miracle. I really could have eaten every last one.
